Some more info here is needed - adding qawanted to look into how reproducible this is, what could be the potential cause - are the apps not completely installing? What is the default icon and how would that be impacting the app installation here? Is there another commonality with the apps that could be triggering the issue?

Confirmed. The app does not launch, per STR from comment 0. You tap the icon, it comes to the center, and then it just moves back into the corner with the app never launching.

It's more than an installation issue- the apps can't open at all.
Default icons are a set of 3 "earth" icons (blue, green, and brown) which are used by e.me when there is no app-specific icon in our DB.
When there's no icon for an app- we use one of the default ones. But in some specific cases, like the one mentioned above, we have an issue that prevents the browser from opening the app.
This is entirely in e.me code.

Evyratar: can you provide an estimate of how many e.me apps use the default icon?
Daniel: once we have that info can you weigh in on whether this would be a tef? nomination?

Currently a total of 12 apps.

Which are those apps? Is there any way to block them so that the problem is prevented?

We're working on fixing it from our backend side. A client fix is still warranted, but as long as our API doesn't return the problematic apps- it will be OK.

We will have a temp fix for it until the patch is approved. So, there's no need to set it as a blocker.

We will track this, in that case and we can take a low risk uplift to v1-train when ready.

This is not an issue anymore. Our API doesn't return iconless apps in results.
