Details
Hi -
We'd like to setup monitoring and paging for service now -- so when critical tickets come in and aren't assigned to anyone within an hour page the on-call desktop person. Can we have an account to test this out in the Nagios staging environment?
Thanks!
Jen

Can you provide more details? Nagios will need a script to call to be able to page, so we need a script that will hit the serviceNow APIs. Nagios scripts excpect a return code of 0, 1, 2, 3 for OK, WARNING, CRITICAL, UNKNOWN respectively and a single line of output with some text. This doesn't need need to be tested on the nagios server, as such a script would work fine from a laptop and as long as the return codes are correct and the output is good, nagios will work with it.

Hi Jabba -
Ok - let me see how far we can get. Can we put this on hold for now?

Sure, and as I've offered before, I'm happy to write the nagios plugins needed for this. The only thing I need is a list of API calls that are needed to get the information from servicenow. rtucker and I spent some time on this last year, trying to figure out their system and their docs are all over the place, so ideally if they have a rep or something that can just give us "use this API call to get information X" type of information, we can have something written pretty quickly. Or if you can put us into contact with someone technical from servicenow so that we can discuss in person, that would be helpful.
Closing this as incomplete for now.
