display events of "last week" in timeline

From a purely aesthetic perspective, it would be *great* to display the events of the last week in the timeline, that way there isn't that huge grey empty space to the left of the blue vertical line when you first land on the timeline. It just looks a bit odd to a person who lands on if for the first time. 

An even better effect would be to display the events of the past week, but gradually fade the font so that the as you go back in time, by the 7th day, events on that day are almost invisible.
