Details
Get a long bookmarks list, with each item in the list being an individual bookmark. Click "Bookmarks" and get a list. Then roll your mouse up and down the list (without clicking). As you roll the mouse up and down the list, the bookmark that is under your mouse cursor becomes highlighted. Now stop the mouse, and the bookmark currently under the mouse cursor stays highlighted. This is as it should be. Now do the same thing with a long bookmarks list where the items in the list are not individual bookmarks, but rather folders. Roll your mouse up and down the list and the folder under your cursor becomes highlighted. Stop the mouse. Occasionally, when you stop the mouse the folder under the cursor will not be highlighted (it also won't be expanded), and in fact nothing at all will be. If you have some individual bookmarks and some folders, it only happens when you stop on one of the folders. Also, it seems unrelated to the theme.

This bug appears to be caused by the animation of the previous folder closing/subwindow going away. Looks like there is a race condition between the selection of the new folder and the deselection of the old folder?? It's very annoying....

Okay it looks like this is a duplicate of Bug 41766 - "when expanded menus unexpand, takes highlight with it" Marking as such. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 41766 ***
