User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0
Build ID: 20130215130331
Steps to reproduce:
I disabled "Keep messages for this account on this computer"
Actual results:
When I start TB, I can still see the subjects of messages. Even when I do not give it my IMAP password.
Expected results:
Message list should be empty until its received from the server.

"Keep messages for this account on this computer"
is about imap message bodies, not the message headers. And imap headers are always downloaded when you log in, and always retained after you shut down. (pop accounts are similar)
"I can still see the subjects of messages."
We could cite other users who cite this concern, and answer always is that data security (the security of the data on your computer) is best achieved by configuring the operating system appropriately.
