What problems would this solve?

Currently, there's no way for nagios and other IT monitoring systems to ping the kumascript about its health.

Monitoring systems would be able to check on kumascript and raise alerts if something has gone wrong.

What would users do? What would happen as a result?

Users would enjoy better service monitoring and fault alerts

You may want to consider rolling this up into a general "status page" for all of MDN. For example, https://addons.mozilla.org/services/monitor.
