This has happened off and on for a while now. Not sure if it's even my fault
because I'm ctrl-clicking while the mouse is moving or something. If that's the
case, maybe something could be done to make meta clicks less sensitive to mouse
motion. Otherwise, perhaps there are conditions under which the ctrl-click is
just dropped.
I'm filing this now because I think there might be a relationship to moving the
focus out of the thread pane and then ctrl-click fails because it gets consumed
by returning the focus and doesn't propogate to the thread pane.

i can verify on x86/Linux (GCC 2.95) 2001060909. it's not just *sometimes*,
either, but *every* time i try to Ctrl-click to select multiple messages.
Alt-click is fine and correctly selects a range.

The Linux bug report above may actually be a result of upgrading GNOME. I had
exactly these symptoms on upgrading to Gnome 1.4 until I noticed that Sawfish
had changed from intercepting Meta to intercepting Ctrl.

yes! that's it! i changed my Sawfish configuration back (i'm running Sawfish
1.0, which has a configurable shortcut-key) and it works again. thank you,
adrian! (reporter, check and maybe mark as "invalid"?)

I originally saw this on one or more of my win32 machines, I haven't run Linux
in a while now. If no patch was checked in, there's probably still a problem in
the client somewhere.

this definately works under sawfish 1.0. I've been using it for a few months
now with great results.

No problem - I used all of Ctrl+ combinations testing Main menu items.
I have KDE on my Linux machine.
Plans for closing?
