I encounter glitches in texts on both of my PC (ArchLinux) since ff18. Here's some screenshots because it's difficult to describe: http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=dsc00102pnjuq.jpg http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=dsc00103t5jsj.jpg The interesting part is that it doesn't happen for all texts but is always reproducible for certain texts - like code. Reproducing this should be simple: 1. Go into a FluxBB forum and click "Post Reply" (you will have to log in for example into ArchLinux forums bbs.archlinux.org) 2. Copy (for example) this code http://pastebin.com/jVem0syp 3. and paste it into the text field 4. Now type random letters or just press space a few times 5. Glitches will occur This issue was initially posted on ArchLinux forums: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=156456 Sorry that for reproducing you need to register some where, but I do not know how else to reproduce this.

No one interested in a fix? :( I'd gladly help in reproducing, but I need some feedback...
I was able to reproduce this issue with a ATI Radeon HD 4770 and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (which might be a rebranded HD 4000 who knows). With my current R7 260x I am not. I will test it again soon, with my old card...

Catalin, can you please try to reproduce this? Your video card is what we have closest to those in comment 3.

I've tried reproducing this issue using: FF 28 release OS: Ubuntu 12.04 x64 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 ATI Radeon HD 5450 without success. Can you please verify if this issue is reproducible using Firefox 28 ?

Hey Catalin, thanks for your help! I have changed my graphics card to my old Radeon HD 4770 (using open source drivers, however as I've already mentioned, it also happens on Windows 7 to some extent!), and I can still reproduce the issue. I have uploaded a video showing showing the general behaviour and how I am able to reproduce it. As you see the glitches reset every time after hovering the mouse-pointer into and out of the text field. I know this issue is kinda tricky, but I will keep my old graphics card at hand for the sake of fixing it :) Also, I will look for more convenient ways to reproduce this. I hope this helps you guys in reproducing. PS: It's silly, even while writing this very post I experience the glitch... And as I said, this also happened on my Notebook with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, but it died unfortunately...
Damn I have finally made some progress! The issue is somehow triggered by the spelling correction in firefox: Activate it on right click -> spelling correction and choose the dictionary "English (United Kingdom)". I tested it with other dictionaries as well, and it seems that not all dictionaries "trigger" the bug. But on "English (United Kingdom)" you should be definitely be able to reproduce it!
Holy ****, it appears the same happens in thunderbird! It is definately related to the "English (GB)" dictionary thought and happens only when spell checking is enabled.
