Using 1999061809M7 (with the Reply bug fix 8464) the user must place the cursor
at the beginning of the string "---Original Message---" (POP) and at the
beginning of the existing text (IMAP) in order to type a reply.
Note: Linux and mac are completely broke and crash when send, that will be
logged as a different bug.

1. Launch Messenger
2. Select a message
3. Click Reply
4. Start typing where the cursor is.  Nothing happens.
5. Move the cursor just in front of the first text that appears on the reply
message and start typing.  Now you see the newly typed text.

I have tuned off by default the new quoting who was leading to this crash.  The new quoting can still be turn on with
the pref: user_pref("mail.old_quoting", false);

Let's do this - there still is a problem with the new quoting style - let's use
this bug to track that problem as originally reported.  I'll mark the target
milestone to M8 for now.

(so for M7, this problem is bypassed by having the default be to the old quoting
style.)
New quoting style is turned back on by default in M8 so we need to fix this
crash.

this bug is not a crash, right, and doesn't need to be fixed for m8, correct? If
I'm wrong, please move it back to m8.
You're right.  I was thinking of another bug without really reading this bug's
contents.

This happens in Linux, too (7_8). I don't see that it's been tested on the Mac.
I'm making platform=all for now. If someone tests on the Mac and it's not a
problem there, we could add [PP] back into the summary....
