It would be nice if the background layer that's visible when the content is over-scrolled would show the theme picture like on about:home if a theme is active, instead of the normal blue background color.
Accordingly it would be nice if the dark gray color of the awesomebar could extend to the background layer below while the user is inside a private tab.
Not if it's possible at all, but I made a quick mockup of how this could look like.

There are talks of removing over-scroll all-together.

Yeah. If we keep overscroll we should change this colour to match the title bar. If we go to native scrolling this bug becomes invalid.

There will still be situations where the background layer will be temporarily visible - for example, if the page changes size, or if you zoom out - bug 705246 doesn't block this.

Bug 705246 disabled over-scroll, so there's nothing left do here.
