Build ID: 2013021500
Steps to reproduce:
I'd like to connect Thunderbird/Lightning to xCal / xCard server. It's well known that Thunderbird itself doesn't have a feature rich addressbook.
Actual results:
none?
Expected results:
Use Lightning to implement an alternative addressbook for Thunderbird using already implemented features of Lightning such as calDAV (ergo cardDAV) and sqlite as storage engine. Treat it like Calendars making them accessible like calendars for extensions.

CalDAV and CardDAV are completely different protocols. In my opinion this bug is WONTFIX. Lightning is an calendar application. If you want an extension for address book, well create an extension for address book. Or use an existing one that adds CardDAV support. Simple internet search showed many pages on how to connect Thunderbird with CardDAV server.

Yes should be won't fix .. 6 years later there is the excellent https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/addon/cardbook/ addon to do just this.
Should be renamed and changed to address book instead of "won't fix".
A featureless address book is a K.O. criteria and the actual status of Cardbook is no long-term solution.
