As a user, I will like to be able to send MMS when the carrier uses different APNs for Internet and MMS. 

This is indeed the most common situation. The APN used for MMS traffic usually is not the same as the one used for Internet traffic. This makes necessary to handle different and simultaneous PDP contexts (to for example, maintain Internet connectivity while downloading a MMS).

This feature already be done. The carrier 'CHT' in Taiwan use two APNs. One is internet another is emome for MMS. We can use CHT's sim card to receive and send MMS.
