From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.1) Gecko/20010607 BuildID: 2001060703 Only the HTML tags of the site are displayed, but not the actual web page. IE and Opera display the site contents, so I know the page ought to be working. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open URL http://www.moshshockerz.com/ 2. 3. Actual Results: Only HTML tags are displayed. Expected Results: Render the page, not display the tags.
the page that loads is http://members.home.net/omegamsz/mainindex.php3 and it looks like plain source in NC4* as well.
and IE5 renders the whole frameset OK loading http://www.moshshockerz.com/
The main part of the frame http://members.home.net/omegamsz/mainindex.php3 Sends: Content-Type: text/plain So we're doing the right thing. IE guesses based on the contents. Evangelism?
Server is broke, sending wrong content-type. Get same results in Communicator and Mozilla.

IE 6 displays this page as expected. Should mozilla guess like they do?
No. There are comments in other bugs explaining this, there is even a browser test site which shows why IE is very wrong, plus there is the w3 spec or whatever. Although it might be spiffy if we rearranged the browser ui to allow the user to change the mime type at will. then I could make an html document text/plain to view the source, or make a messed up document text/html to view it rendered. If i was really wierd i might even change it to text/xml to see how bogus it was or text/html;charset=something to mess w/ other stuff. This is actually probably more useful for links and stuff where I have a file that's say .rpm and want it handled by say realplayer instead of alien (a package manager that supports redhat) or vice versa. Or i might want to make it application/octet-stream to force mozilla to save it to disk instead of letting a helper application/plugin handle it. Unfortunately I haven't come up w/ a good UI for this, and! w/ the current mess of the urlbar in w/ the nav bar there really isn't space.
