Details

Speaking with my old colleagues who had moved from Firefox to Chrome it came across strongly that they have tried to go back to Firefox a bunch of times but it is too slow and unstable. It turns out that they are all techies but had no idea that they had a profile and certainly no idea how to reset it (a bad addon was causing the problem). On resetting their profiles they were surprised about the improvements in speed and stability.

This is quite a barrier to people switching back to Firefox.

It would be great if when a user profile has not been used for ? days (maybe 28) and Firefox is started we could show a dialog explaining that Firefox is fast but some addons can slow things down. An option to reset the profile here would also be great instead of only in about:support.
Yes, this is a good idea and something we may pick up soon. Offering to migrate data again is also in scope.
