Details

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130307075451

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download and install the Beta Stub Installer
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/candidates/20.0b4-candidates/build1/firefox-20.0.en-US.win32.installer-stub.exe
2. In the installer, in the Firefox Setup window -> click on the Options button
3. Uncheck - Send information about this installation to Mozilla and click on the Install button
4. After the install is completed and Firefox is launched - check the Task Manager.

Expected results:
After the install is complete, Firefox is launched and the firefox-20.0.en-US.win32.installer-stub.exe process is closed in the Task Manager.

Actual results:
firefox-20.0.en-US.win32.installer-stub.exe process is still opened after Firefox is launched.

Note:
This issue is only reproducible when using the beta stub installer (not reproducible when using the nightly/aurora stub installer).

My current suspicion is that Bug 848794 didn't get built into the beta stub installer.
Flags: needinfo?(robert.bugzilla)
The beta stub installer did not contain the fixes from Bug 848794. There is a new beta stub installer that does contain the fixes here:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/candidates/20.0b4-candidates/build1/firefox-20.0.en-US.win32.installer-stub.exe

Can someone verify that this bug can no longer be reproduced? Thanks!
I can no longer reproduce this with the new builds, in comment #2. I tested this on WinXP, Win7, and Vista using the steps in comment #0 in combination with testing bug 848794
