Details
We used to do freshness checks on nightly builds via a custom nagios plugin. This helped catch things like permared XULRunner. We killed those a long time ago and now XULRunner, b2g desktop builds, and other things that are hidden on TBPL can go unnoticed and broken.
We should do freshness checks again, whether it's through Nagios or something else (could even be a periodic buildbot job), and send notifications to appropriate places. Maybe to newsgroups or mailing lists? B2G notifications should definitely be sent somewhere that b2g devs look.

(I've filed bug 851061 for us thinking up a longer-term solution for all job types as part of the TBPL rewrite).
