[Changing URL so that it starts directly at a town (Aachen).] I get the following error on the JS console: Error: mapObj.GotoFrame is not a function Source File: http://www.hotdoc.de/vv/script/0001/streets.js Line: 77 With Opera, I get the same error. With IE5.5, it works fine though. They are using some browser sniffing that seems to like only IE: function Nav(f1,p1,p2,p3,p4,p5,s1) { var InternetExplorer = navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1; Over to Evangelism.

Reality check: Does LiveConnect work at all with Shockwave in Mozilla? I've been trawling the net for hours looking at one demo after another of LiveConnect/Shockwave, and each one fails to perform in Mozilla. Two examples: http://www.phxnow.com/LM/gotoFrame/gotoFrame.html http://www.kentdesign1.com/horse1.htmlI've been trying to write my own LiveConnect/Shockwave script, and have got it working in everything from Netscape 3 to IE 6, but no joy in Mozilla.

works fine if your flash is scriptable (look for flashplayer.xpt in your mozilla/components folder). wfm, mozilla 1.1, win2k, flash player 6,0,47,0

Mozilla 1.2a; Win98; Flash 6,0,47,0; Shockwave 8.5.1 Doesn't work. There is no 'flashplayer.xpt' in components - where do I get it?

Hi Michael, interesting question, I have it, but I do not know how I got it. Try to download it from http://home.t-online.de/home/Bielefeld__Buss_oHG/mozilla/flashplayer.xpt and copy it into oyur mozilla\components - folder I am Interested in information: did it work for you?

Looks like Macromedias fault: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86646#c19. comment #14: Rainer, this file doesn't work. It is sent as text/plain (most webservers default for unknown files), and I'm pretty sure that the correct mime type would be application/octet-stream.

I tried and for me it worked: I tried my system without flashplayer.xpt: www.stadtplan.net did not work. Download http://home.t-online.de/home/Bielefeld__Buss_oHG/mozilla/flashplayer.xpt with right mouseclick / save link target as in components- folder restart mozilla: www.stadtplan.net works

I saved the flashplayer.xpt into components folder and tried on linux (mozilla 1.1 on SuSE linux 7.1) and on windows (mozilla 1.1 on 98SE and on 2000 Professional), same result after restarting mozilla on both: no success.

Try the installer from http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html#Flash I tried and it put the flashplayer.xpt in the components directory and stadtplan.net works now. However, this functionality depends on Flash 6.0. The Linux version is still 5.x, so this can't work on that platform. This is fixed.

>you can just open evangelism bugs for every flash6 related site. >go complain to macromedia instead. > >marking as wfm. If you've got a comment like this keep it to yourself. The bug tracker is to track things that don't work. Obviously this site _does not_ work and there a bug has been made, it is no personal attack against you or the Mozilla.org team, but rather a constructive critism, highlighting the fact that a particular site doesn't work so that perhaps in the future someone can figure out a way of getting it to work.

you dont understand. we cant contact them saying, heh, your site doesnt work with mozilla / linux - which I use myself btw - , please downgrade your flash animation so that flash5 users can see it. we CANT. because its macromedia's fault, not even the site's fault. the problem with this site has nothing to do with mozilla. leave that as worksforme.

David, the tech evangelism "product" in bugzilla is used to track web sites that produce content that is not compatible with Mozilla. I understand there is an issue, but it's not due to the web site nor Mozilla, but it comes from Macromedia not shipping an updated plug in for your platform (which I would like to happen, BTW). Sorry to mark it as WFM, but this is the way to do in this case. --Tristan BTW, I'm the default owner of Tech Evangelism/Europe, so please do not reopen the bug. Thanks. (if you have issues with this specific bug, send me a private e-mail)

See previous comment. Marking Invalid as it is not a Mozilla problem nor an evangelism issue : it's macromedia which has not yet shipped a recent version of its plug in on Linux.

What about under Windows, doesn't work for me under Windows either (which was the inital claim of my bug, nothing to do with Linux).
Comment 28•22 years ago
|

works fine with windows if you have flashplayer.xpt or whatever its name is. the thing is, the macromedia installer is buggy and doesnt copy it to the right directory itself.
Comment 29•22 years ago
|
||
I can verify that it works on windows copying flashplayer.xpt from the link http://home.t-online.de/home/Bielefeld__Buss_oHG/mozilla/flashplayer.xpt to the components directory and restarting mozilla. Try again David.
