Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:21.0) Gecko/20130315 Firefox/21.0
Build ID: 20130315042012

Steps to reproduce:

'Aurora button' > Preferences > Tabs > checked (selected option) "Don't load tabs until selected" > Close

Actual results:

I opened a bookmark sub-folder I have with approx 140 or so bookmarks in a new window.
FF (Aurora 21) started and never finished loading Every one of the 140 or more tabs dragging my Linux system down.
Firefox's resource usages was 43+% CPU and 1,987,000+ MB RAM.
(system: openSuSE Linux / KDE 4.8.5, 4GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, duo 2.6 GHz)

Expected results:

checking 'don't load tabs until selected' should Not load tabs until i click on them.
Only happens when loading sub-folder of tabs 'Open All in Tabs' and not on restart / restore.
Maybe this is something that can be addressed. If the option to 'open all' is given, then a way to Not load all pages should be used. yes?

im my example folder there are 151 Bookmarks.. that's a lot of connections, reloads to happen at once.

Landis.
That Option is related to Session Restore only as of now. There has been filed a Report already to expand it to e.g. your Use-Case earlier.

Which one ?

The issue bug 792210 is not a real duplicate. It is directed now to changing the text to match Firefox' current behaviour. Whereas, in this issue, Landis (like me) wants to have Firefox change his behaviour to match the text.

It would be nice to make everyone happy by having these two prefs :
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=911427#c3

Then this is a Dupe of the RFE Bug 911427 (or vice versa).
Feel free to edit this Report as needed.

Indeed, in this issue the problem is the same as in the issue bug 911427.

Yes, I *feel* free. But I cannot change the status of this issue. I think Landis can.
