On a session with 2500 tabs and the gecko profiler addon, 25s are spent on shutdown under window-utils.js's unload().

Hi Mike,

This is valid concern, but I'm afraid there is no simple solution here, we need to make major changes to the way unload. Mainly we need to leverage GC more and require
less manual cleanups on the add-on side. Good news is that this work is in progress, you can keep an eye on Bug 724632

I'll close this bug since there is no specific thing we could do here, feel free to re-open if you think otherwise
