I've tried both muting through "botbot mute Sheriff" and "vars Sheriff channelsBlocked '+#channelname'" Some channels don't want this enabled.
'sheriff' doesn't support 'mute'. Just turn off the entire Sheriff module for the relevant channel. (bot vars Sheriff modules '-#channel')
