User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; SunOS sun4u; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0
Build ID: 20130308102122
Steps to reproduce:
I have three email accounts plus local folders set up as mail accounts in Thunderbird and I the Folders View set to Unified.
Normally, I have the (unified) Inbox collapsed and selected.
Actual results:
When new mail arrives, the unread mail count for the unified Inbox is not updated. If I expand the unified Inbox, the unread mail counts for the mail account Inboxes is correct. The same is true if I mark unread majil as read or delete it. See attached snapshot for an example.
This just started happening for me since I upgraded from Thunderbird-17.0esr to Thunderbird-17.0.4esr.
Expected results:
The unread mail count in the unified Inbox should match the sum of the unread mail counts for the account Inboxes.
I am also getting this error, with the unified inbox. This error did not begin happening at upgrade, just randomly a couple of weeks ago. I am using Thunderbird 17.0.6.

I have not noticed it in a while but to be honest, I have not been looking for it either. I have had other problems with unified mailboxes that caused me to select the individual mailboxes to be able to read mail effectively. Those seem to have been fixed in recent updates, so I am back to using the unified mailbox again.
I think this issue is fixed.
Wayne, in response to your question about Solaris, I am currently running Thunderbird 45.1.1 on Suse Linux 12 (Linux 3.12.28) and Windows 7. I stopped running Thunderbird on Solaris a while due to performance problems. I had pretty much stopped using it on Linux for the same reason but the most recent release seems to have improved performancewise, so I may go back to running on Linux as my primary again. I should probably try a Solaris build again too. For completeness, my Solaris machines are running Solaris 10, SPARC and X86_64.
