Hi there! I'd like to grab a mysqldump of the thimble and butter prod db's to move over to AWS for testing/eval for the migration over. Thanks!
I can get you the prod butter, but the other one isn't in labs.
[gozer@boris ~]$ scp butter-20120319.sql.gz ubuntu@ec2-xxx-xx-xx-xx.compute-1.amazonaws.com: Done!
Ping, can this be closed as resolved ?

Not yet, we have not gotten a thimble dump, and will need to do it again for go-live.
Hi Gozer, thoughts on who I can assign this to in IT or webops to coordinate a flip over to AWS for thimble?

Sure, but at this point, what do you still need? You have the thimble dump now? Are we talking about a DNS/load-balancing flip over to AWS or something else?

Mmm, I don't think we've gotten a thimble dump yet. I guess my question is to whom to route this ticket?

We'll have two needs, specifically, First will be a dump just to test and try things out, and the second dump will come in coordination during a flip over to AWS, likely in the next 10 days.
Hi there webops! Is there someone I can coordinate with on this?

:jp - as discussed on irc, i have emailed you a database dump from stage so you can test your new thimble environment. stage only has test data and was never a back port from production.
Understood, thanks. That unfortunately will not allow me to measure the time I'll need for go-live data migration or measure performance in a like-live env, but once we get a +1 on getting the data I'll be able to grab all that info. Thanks for your help.
JP, You should be good to go on this, but what is your plan for handling the data? * where will it sit? * who will you give it to? * how will you get it to them?

joes - I can give it to them, and they've given me a temporary login to their AWS system to scp the backup. That should be enough for the last 2 questions, I can't speak to the first.
thimble backup copied to: /home/ubuntu/webpagemaker_mozilla_com.2013.04.16.sql.gz on the EC2 instance wex provided.
I'm going to call this resolved. When you're ready to do the production migration, please open another bug as part of your migration tracker for the thimble export. You can make it part of mozilla.org -> Server Operations:Database.
