The code checked in with bug 812859 sets pref("devtools.errorconsole.deprecation_warnings", true);

I know Yoric said it was unexpected, but is it a problem?

I believe that it is a bit spammish.

Spammy only to the error console. Having deprecation warnings in the error console by default seems reasonable to me. If they're behind a hidden pref they won't be seen by anyone.

What Gavin said. What's the point of a deprecation warning/module if it's silent?

I honestly think they should stay enabled, don't even see the reason for the pref to disable them.
It's hard enough to convert add-on authors to new APIs, allowing them to ignore the warnings is not going to help.

The original reason to have the preference is because we felt that non-developer users would probably be surprised by these warnings.

Non-developer users generally don't pay attention to the error console :) Sounds like this is RESOLVED WEREOKWITHIT
