Just tried something similar in the "Address Book" I find that attempting to "move" addresses from the Collected addresses to Personal Addresses doesn't work either. The address is simply "copied" to the other folder and not "moved". If I hold the Ctrl key down when dragging an address from one folder to another, I get the icon with the "+" key as expected and a copy is made.
Duplicate of bug 84905, "Moving message across accounts actually does copy the message". Jeremy, please file a new bug on the address book problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 84905 ***
