http://www.neowin.net/news/ie11-to-appear-as-firefox-to-avoid-legacy-ie-css According to a leaked version of IE11, the user agent will replace "MSIE" with "IE" and contain "like Gecko". Mozilla/5.0 (IE 11.0; Windows NT 6.3; Trident/7.0; .NET4.0E; .NET4.0C; rv:11.0) like Gecko Maybe this is harmless, maybe not. Now seems like the best time to be proactive about what this could impact. We don't want to end up with another useless "Mozilla/*" in the user agent.
IMO: if the IE team feels compelled to add "Gecko" in the first place, it's too late to prevent this required "junk" in the UA string. Unless we want to drop it too, to wean the web off some of its sniffing - and I don't think that's likely to happen. Closing this bug, as I don't consider it a valid TE issue.
