Once we've got a 1 or something done for fireplace I think we should spend some time making sure that the whole API is consistent:

- always returns sane errors (bug 855817 as well)
- urls are sane and consistent throughout site
- all documented
- variable names are all consistent

Just a general pass to ensure we've got the polish we want.
