I have seen similar crashes of the current version (17.0.x)  of TB under 32-bit linux
in the last three months or so.

Not sure if this is a thunderbird-specific problem, where the bug occurred,
or related to external library, especially in conjunction with the memory allocator.

I think this happened after I sent an e-mail.
But not sure if that is pertinent to the bug.

Presumably this is the similar to bug 856514, that you no longer see this when running current version
