Details

Currently when a new tab is created, the rollup animation for the tab menu is clunky as the awesome-screen appears. ER: Same speed as just closing the tab menu AR: Clunky rollup animation and transition -- Nightly (04/02) LG Nexus 4 (Android 4.2.2)
Lucas - Sounds like a job for the TransitionManager. Is there a separate bug for it?

There's no transition manager bug yet. I'll file as soon as I have a WIP patch for it. However, this bug has a design piece that should be decided on before implementation. For instance, this bug can be fixed by simply opening about:home instead of the awesome screen when adding a new tab. Even if we decide to keep the current behavior, we'd still need a design spec for how this animation should look. Ian?
