I installed Adobe Reader XI (11.0.02), which has a navigator.plugin[].name "Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in, Version 11.0.02". Plugin Check does not recognize this plugin name:

  Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in, Version 11.0.02
  Adobe® Acrobat® Plug-in for Web Browsers, Version 11.0.02 Unknown plugin

But Plugin Check recommends I "upgrade" to Adobe Reader 9.3:

  Notice: Adobe recommend Acrobat Reader 9.3

But when I click on the Acrobat Reader 9.3 link, Firefox is redirected to Adobe's Reader XI (11.0.02) page where I installed Reader in the first place.
Hey Chris,

i tried to reproduce the problem and works for me. Also i have somehow a different plugin installed. My details are:

Adobe Acrobat

    File: nppdf32.dll
    Version: 11.0.2.0
    Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.02

MIME Type 	Description 	Suffixes
application/pdf Acrobat Portable Document Format pdf
application/vnd.adobe.pdfxml Adobe PDF in XML Format pdfxml
application/vnd.adobe.x-mars Adobe PDF in XML Format mars
application/vnd.fdf Acrobat Forms Data Format fdf
application/vnd.adobe.xfdf XML Version of Acrobat Forms Data Format xfdf
application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml Acrobat XML Data Package xdp
application/vnd.adobe.xfd+xml Adobe FormFlow99 Data File xfd

All i did was going with Firefox to the adobe reader page, then downloading the installer for adobe reader XI and closing Firefox before the Install started (bascially when i was asked how to handle updates). etc

I see now that my Acrobat plugin on OSX has a different plugin name than yours on Windows. Thanks, Adobe! :(

Your Windows plugin:
  * plugin.name = "Adobe Acrobat"
  * plugin.description = "Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.02"

My OSX plugin:
  * plugin.name = "Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in, Version 11.0.02"
  * plugin.description = "Adobe® Acrobat® Plug-in for Web Browsers, Version 11.0.02"

Here is my Acrobat plugin info from about:plugins:

  Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in, Version 11.0.02
      File: AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
      Path: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
      Version: 11.0.02
      State: Enabled
      Adobe® Acrobat® Plug-in for Web Browsers, Version 11.0.02
added now the plugin for mac in plugincheck
thanks chris! added now the plugin to plugincheck production and should now work.
