From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.5 i686; en-US; rv:0.9.1+) Gecko/20010612
BuildID: 2001061221

I wanted to use the Java2 plugin from the NS6.1 PR1 Netscape released today in
Mozilla. The plugin shows up in help->about:plugins, but if I want to visit a
Java page, it just crashes.
I got a hint to make a link, but it still crashes :-/

And yes, it works perfectly well with NS6.1 PR 1, so I hope it is just a minor
problem :-)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.cd mozilla/plugins
2.cp -r /usr/local/netscape/plugins/* .
3.start Mozilla
4.make sure, Java is enabled
5. go to a page with Java (eg. http://www.smartchips.com)

Actual Results: Mozilla crashes

Expected Results: should not crash and use Java.

ok, below I try to give a back trace, but I am not sure, if it is useful at all.
When running without debugger, Mozilla crashes, with debugger Mozilla seem to
hang. One has to press Control+C to leave mozilla and to be able to get a back
trace.
Please don't mark it invalid. I think I did everything in a way, that it should
work!

aehm, just for information:
"Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden"
means: "file or directory not found"

You probably should make a link to the plugins you installed instead of
doing copy.
Hmmm, I thought I did, but I did it in the wrong dir so it had no effect at all.
Now it works fine, sorry for wasting your time :-/
OTOH, why does it make a difference between having the file and having a link?

Marking this as invalid, but I am interested in the answer. It adds a potential
crasher (like I had), which is hard to find the reason for. I think this was the
reason why I never managed to get Java2 running.
Is there another bug filed about this?
