User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 Build ID: 20130307023931 Steps to reproduce: Start up TB. Actual results: Without warning TB hangs, the pinwheel comes up, and "Thunderbird not responding" shows up in the Activity Monitor. See the screen shot in the attachment. However, it is consuming a large % of the CPUs. My hardware is Hardware Overview: Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro2,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.33 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 3 GB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Boot ROM Version: MBP21.00A5.B08 SMC Version (system): 1.14f5 Serial Number (system): W871501DW0M Hardware UUID: 00000000-0000-1000-8000-001B631E816B Sudden Motion Sensor: State: Enabled Expected results: TB should not stop responding. After a time, TB begins responding again and the CPU usage drops. See the second screen shot in the attachment. What would be helpful is to at least find out what TB is doing when it is not responding.
Can you look in tools->activity manager? Also tools->error console ?
