I need to be able to remotely access the mysql database on the aformentioned server in an automated way.

The IP for hulmer-sandbox.stage.metrics.scl3.mozilla.com is 10.22.31.222.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
Well, it looks like there's already an open firewall entry:

[scabral@hulmer-sandbox.stage.metrics.scl3 ~]$ nc -vz sumotools1.webapp.phx1.mozilla.com  3306
Connection to sumotools1.webapp.phx1.mozilla.com 3306 port [tcp/mysql] succeeded!

So all I have to do is open up the right ACL. What user are you logging in as? (just the username)

Granted privileges for the hulmer user from 10.22.31.222.
