Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20130404 Firefox/23.0 Build ID: 20130404030859 Steps to reproduce: There are many out of date pictures(from Firefox 4 - 8) in http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/ & http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/customize/ & http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/security/, this might confuse users new to Firefox. Users will upon downloading Firefox 20 and discovering that the website show a different Firefox from what they got in the actual Firefox. Also in the Private Browsing section of http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/, it was mention in there that [quote] "Sometimes it’s nice to go undercover: turn this feature on and protect your browsing history. You can slip in and out of private browsing mode quickly, so it’s easy to go back to what you were doing before as if nothing ever happened. ..."[unquote] This is misleading as you do not turn on or off Private Browsing now instead you open a New Private Window. This misleading statement should be changed to "You can open a new private window in order to protect your browsing history. You can easily open it using the Firefox Menu or right click Menu." in order to avoid confusion with features.
The private browsing text has just been resolved in bug 857365. All the other Firefox pages are in the process of being updated as part of new Firefox Family site to launch in Q2 2013.
Good to hear that work have been done and outdated content have been updated soon. I will mark this bug a Duplicate bug of bug 857365 then. Thank You for your hard work.
