1.type one of the above letters
2.try any other letter
3.watch URL bar drop-down list bottom

Can't reproduce this on Macintosh 2001060712. What exactly are we supposed to
see here?

I'm using the same 2001060703, also on Winblows.

At first I didn't see it with the O, but I saw it wiht the Q. The reason is very
simple : there's no URL in my history that starts with a Q (ok, the
hostname-part), but there's one which start with a O. It there's no matching
history-entry, the pulldown won't appear, so you can't select the 'search' item.

Easy to test : clear the history (or the location bar), and you won't see any
pulldown menu at all.

I'm still not seeing it on my (later) version of mozilla. It seems to somehow
have been already fixed. I say drop the matter.

the 'reporter' made no comments that would lead one to resolve 'wfm'.

reporter (and emlyyn) please try this with an absolutely new trunk build. The
build to which you refer and several subsequent to it are plagued by some
autocomplete bugs which confound testing this bug properly. Those bugs are
mostly fixed now so give a new build a try and see if you see this.
