Several Mozilla websites have a 'hardhat' page displayed when the site is under maintenance. We should also add a page like this for situations where we have downtime.
I believe that's something IT adds when website is under maintenance, we don't need to do something. Do you have more info William?
Matt suggested this bug a while back. I believe the idea was to allow site admins to be able to immediately put the site in maintenance mode, where a hard hat message would be displayed. The benefit is that we could put a hardhat message up faster than it would take IT to do that on their side. Matt, if you still this is valuable, can you explain more? If you have seen this done on our other websites, how does the functionality work?
I agree with :giorgos .. I probably sent you on a snipe hunt williamr :-) sorry. I think IT redirects a site (that is down) to a hardhat if asked.
Per comment 1 and comment 3, IT can redirect the site to a hardhat if asked. I agree that meets our needs well.
QA verified .. the snipe hunt is over.
