858866 - calendar: Add an Account: Appears to hang when adding a CalDav account without its URL protocol

STEPS:
1. Launch Calendar
2. Tap top left menu button.
3. Tap + button in left-side Calendars menu.
4. Tap CalDav.
5. Enter valid username and password.
6. In the URL field enter a domain (no protocol, i.e. mail.mozilla.com)

RESULT SEEN:
The app stays on its Account page indefinitely displaying the "Please wait while your account is setup" message and spinner. It stayed in this state for more than 3.5 hrs I closed and relaunched the app.

RESULT EXPECTED:
The entered account is added and the user is returned to the screen with the left-side Calendar menu displaying the added calendar or an error message is displayed if a full URL is required (i.e. http://mail.mozilla.com/).

NOTES:

Bug 828287 also reports a protocol-related issue with the app appearing to hang.

IMO, the app should be more user-friendly during Account setup and when omitted silently try multiple protocols auto-aborting if none succeed within some predetermined, user-acceptable amount of time. At the very least an error about the entered URL should be shown.
