User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0
Build ID: 20130307023931

Steps to reproduce:

I browsed in non-private mode, and then switched to private browsing mode (permanently in the Preferences pane.)

Actual results:

I noticed that the New Tab grid still had URLs listed (from non-private mode.) I cleared history, restarted, still saw the URLs.

Expected results:

No history should be present. I think that "Clear History" is not clearing the sqlite_sequence table in places.sql in this use case. I found many URLs listed in that table, and when I deleted them from the SQLite db file, my problem was resolved.
You had URLs from the normal mode listed while you switched to the private browsing mode listed ?
It would be only a bug if you see URLs in the normal mode from the private browsing mode.

I highly doubt sqlite_sequence is involved in any way, I also doubt there are urls listed in such table unless some add-on added them wrongly or the database is corrupt.

This may be related to newtab page more than history.

Matthias, I agree with you, however, it's more about the fact that I click 'Clear All History' and the URLs were not cleared out.

Marco, I do use some extentions. I will make sure they are disabled and attempt to reproduce the issue. Thank you for your feedback.
I am unable to reproduce the issue on the latest Nightly 27.0a1, after clearing all the history and switched to private browsing all the history is gone. If you still encounter the issue please reopen this bug or file a new one.
