Details

The Help files need updating to track changes in the UI and functionality
changes. The files will be checked in on an as-needed basis during the 0.9.3 cycle.

The content files are either .html or .gif, so we'll check those when changes
are made, without the typical review approvals (the changes may be on the order
of adding commas or periods, etc.). Other files may need adjusting, such as the
table of contents file (rdf) and the file containing content-key mappings
(help.js). We'll seek approval for changes to those files.

The following files are potentially affected for help updates as we march toward
Moz 1.0 and Netscape RTM:

mozilla/extensions/help/resources/content/
   help.js (for the keys)

mozilla/extensions/help/resources/locale/en-US/
   help-toc.rdf (for the toc)
   *.html (for content updates)
   images/*.gif (for screenshot updates)

mozilla/extensions/help/resources/skin/
   help.css (for skin polishing)

mozilla/extensions/help/resources/
jar.mn (for changes additions and subtractions from the content)

ns/extensions/help/resources/locale/en-US/
help-toc.rdf (for commercial side toc updates)
   *.html (for content updates)
It seems that Mozilla is missing some pretty major updates to the help files
based on the Netscape 6.1 release. Is there any plan to take them?

I have noticed:

composer_help.html
cs_nav_dialogs.html
cs_nav_prefs_advanced.html
cs_nav_prefs_navigator.html
cs_nav_sidebar.html
customize_help.html

and perhaps others
Updating milestone, adding Robin. adding nsbranch keyword. Is that right, Steve?

Removing PDT+ designation from summary.

This bug would seem to cover only updates to security (Sean's) content. At
least, we don't plan on updating other HTML content files. I'll create a
separate bug in Bugscape.
Summary: Update of Help files [PDT+] → Update of Help files
Reassigning bug to Robin as Steve Rudman is on sabbatical. Robin, please put a
nsbranch+ or nsbranch- designation in keywords

Changing to nsbranch+. This bug covers help content updates related to privacy &
security files for Mozilla, which are also picked up in the commercial branch
builds.

Sean, can we close this as Resolved since we're beyond the localization freeze?
If not, please comment what you're still waiting to complete in Help so we can
expedite it. The eMojo branch is closing in a few days.
All revised privacy & security help files have been checked into both the emojo
branch and the trunk.
