What feature should be changed? Please provide the URL of the feature if possible. ================================================================================== The idea is to make the "edit" button more inviting and encouraging, instead of seeming bland and slightly sinister. :) What problems would this solve? =============================== Hopefully more people will contribute! Who would use this? =================== All MDN users What would users see? ===================== A pretty, friendly blue button that says "Improve this article" or "Improve this doc" instead of "EDIT". What would users do? What would happen as a result? =================================================== Click the button. Edit the page. Make the docs better. Improve the world. Become an Internet celebrity. Marry well. Laugh often. Live well. Is there anything else we should know? ======================================
Maybe we should do some A/B testing on this first. This has the possibility of discouraging edits, as "Edit" is so conventional. People using Wikipedia, Kitsune and others have been conditioned to look for that word.

David, Luke can probably help you set up an A/B test.
We don't have a procedure for A/B or multivariate testing yet. Adding :jsocol to give advice.
Flags: needinfo?(lcrouch) → needinfo?(james)
You can use Waffle to flip the string, but you also need to find an appropriate way to record the value of the flag, like a query string parameter (and use analytics to compare click-through rate) or statsd/graphite. For something as relatively infrequent as document edits, getting statistical significances will be challenging.
John, where did we end up with this test?
Fewer people clicked IMPROVE THIS DOC than EDIT PAGE (the baseline). The label EDIT performed best of all, receiving 40% more clicks than the baseline. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/mozilla.dev.mdn/improve$20this$20doc/mozilla.dev.mdn/BPIXLS_Uf70/4P4x1QIjGeEJ I didn't test IMPROVE THIS ARTICLE. I suspect it would have performed similarly to IMPROVE THIS DOC, but we can re-run the test if we feel strongly that it would perform better than EDIT.
