User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:23.0) Gecko/20130409 Firefox/23.0 Build ID: 20130409030855 Steps to reproduce: I have 2 provider activated (Facebook & Mixedpuppys Demo). Then I deactivated the current SocialAPI provider (Facebook) with the entry out of the menu of the tooolbar-button. Actual results: The option to change the provider disappears and the provider doesn't change to another active provider. Expected results: The list of active providers should be visible to change to another provider after deactivating the current or the current provider should change to the next active provider automaticly.

I'm unable to reproduce this. When you disable or remove a provider, another provider is made active. Are you still able to reproduce this with a current nightly?

I reproduced this a while bug but I forgot to file a bug for it. Here are my steps to reproduce with the latest Nightly: 1. Log in to facebook.com 2. Turn on Facebook Messenger via https://www.facebook.com/about/messenger-for-firefox 3. Turn on MSN Now via https://now.msn.com/now-for-firefox 4. Click the MSN Now toolbar button and select "Turn off MSN Now" 5. Click the MSN Now toolbar button Result: Presented with options to > Turn on MSN Now > Manage Services > Learn More Expected: Presented with options to > Switch to Facebook (or any other enabled provider) > Turn on MSN Now > Manage services > Learn more

Ever confirmed: true

Note that the workaround for this is to re-enable the disabled provider. After doing so I can switch providers.
Summary: SocialAPI: Can't change the current provider, if I deactivate the current provider out of the menu → Cannot switch providers
Summary: Cannot switch providers → Cannot switch providers until re-enabling a disabled provider

IMO not a bug since it is not a feature of the menu. There is bug 858321 to add support for switching the provider when enabling.

This is how the config and the menu looks like, when both providers are activated.

(In reply to daniel-jaeger from comment #6) > Created attachment 738582 [details] > Deactivated Provider > > This is how the config and the menu looks like, if I deactivate the current > provider (Facebook). That is the current design. Bug 858321 is looking at changing the menu structure.
