Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.31 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1410.64 Safari/537.31
Steps to reproduce:
Opened Firefox, attempted to go to a bookmarked url
Actual results:
Nothing.
Expected results:
Firefox should have gone to bookmarked url and loaded page.
This happened in Firefox with add-ons and in re-started Firefox which loaded a completely different GUI. Despite new GUI, the problem persists. Firefox does not attempt to connect to the internet or go to any pages. There are no error messages, etc.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Works for me using Firefox 20.0.1 (buildID: 20130409194949).

This means that you tried using Firefox with add-ons desabled? Help/Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
Can you also try using another profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

Yes, I started it without add-ons - then restarted which opened an entirely new interface. I have opened and closed it, it doesn't load any pages. I'm using Chrome now. Doesn't matter if I click on a bookmark or try to type in a URL. Nothing happens. Will probably uninstall and reinstall.

chamade: Does the problem still happen if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? (Safe Mode disables extensions and themes, hardware acceleration and some JavaScript stuff in order to exclude some possible reasons for problems. It does not disable plugins which are add-ons.) See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
And does this also happen with a new and empty profile? See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile and http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing%20profiles .
If you still see this problem in the new profile, please enter the address "about:support" in the address bar and attach (using the "Add an attachment" link above) the output for your original profile (not the new profile), as the "Modified Preferences" section could be interesting.
Thanks for your help!

I have not used Firefox since. It continues to load a very ugly UI and no matter what, I can't get it to change. Now I use Chrome. It's a shame, because I liked Firefox a lot. But there's just too much **** and too little screen - and that's with no add-ons or plug ins. Can't tell you anything else.
