Nightly runs plugin-container.exe and attachs it to private tab (if I force close process, Nightly says that plugin crashed), but on place for plugin-needed content Nightly:
version 23.0a1 build 20130411030925 - shows nothing or shows frame with about:blank
version 23.0a1 build 20130415030812 - block all plugins automatically

This issue checked for:
Shockwave Flash x64 11.6.602.180
Unity Player x64 4.0.1.62181

I am unable to reproduce this issue as described. I was not able to find the exact plug-in versions as described above so I installed Shockwave Flash 11.6.602.180 and Unity 4.1.2.1635.

Firefox Nightly 23.0a1 2013-04-11:
1. Start in a normal window
2. Load http://www.youtube.com
3. Open the task manager and kill plugin-container.exe
> Plug-in crash UI shows where ad used to be
4. Open a private window
5. Load http://www.youtube.com
6. Open the task manager and kill plugin-container.exe
> Plug-in crash UI shows where ad used to be
7. Start in a normal window
8. Load http://unity3d.com/gallery/demos/live-demos#angrybots
9. Open the task manager and kill plugin-container.exe
> Plug-in crash UI shows where demo used to be
10. Start in a normal window
11. Load http://unity3d.com/gallery/demos/live-demos#angrybots
12. Open the task manager and kill plugin-container.exe
> Plug-in crash UI shows where demo used to be
13. Check for and install updates to Firefox Nightly 23.0a1 2013-04-15
14. Restart Firefox and repeat the test from step 1

Seriy_A, please provide more detailed steps to reproduce, URLs where you see this happening, and if possible use mozregression[1] to find a regression window. Thank you.

1. i think that ask URL with flash is... strange...
2. steps? opening page.
3. after hour of private surfing percentage of plugin-fails goes down (social networks and YT _now_ works good, but i don't know - maybe it fails on another site)

I install 20130417031053 and plugins not yet blocked or hided.

But, I forget, in video (HTML5 in-private player works good, but I dont know what about Silverlight players; flash have this issue) after every in-play loading, frameskip parameter ups --> FPS in end of video less than 1. This frameskip bug also reacts to other plugin objects on opened tab and therefore plugin not-responsive and the solution to avoid Nightly crash - close tab with video faster or force stop plugin.

Are these problems only happening in the private window?  Do the plugins behave fine in normal windows?

Yes. Only sometimes pauses (2-3 sec max) but I think that happens due to RAID checker or antivirus activity

More than half of extensions are disabled by me or Nightly (compatibility).
Also in this build I see that FPS problem is only for one site (yet?).

In adition I followed Anthony's steps from Comment 2, and everytime I killed plugin-container.exe, I got same results: 
<"Plug-in crash UI shows where ad used to be" 
even if click_to_play pref was enabled or disabled.

So we can't reproduce the originally reported issues on either of x86 or x86_64 builds.
If anyone who is able to reproduce can identify a regression range using mozregression, that would be great. Otherwise there isn't much we can do here.

Looks like you are the only one who can reproduce this issue. I'd tried using different flash versions on both Win7 x64 and x86 again on Latest Nightly and FF 21 RC2 but with no results.

What happens if you have "click_to_play" pref enabled / disabled ? Same results?

Sorry for long "away" (and bad english =) ).

I tried to open some sites both on this Win7x64 with Nightly and on Win7x32 with Firefox and saw the same reaction - some plugins blocks as insecure on both versions, --> I think, it's not bug or sensitivity of these filters is too high on both versions (--> if Firefox-stable have this, Nightly and Aurora have too).

FPS problem, found by me was resolved. It was (IMHO) incorrect ActionScript in flash ad and this ad reduce performance (and FPS on flv/swf/gif/etc.) of Nightly. This problem was actual only for one site.

click_to_play pref not reacts for this (IMHO) because it's not related for security-blocker

So if i understand you right it behaves as it should, blocking some outdated plugins?
Or is there still an issue with all plugins not working?
