Related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=861892 Not having the current user details in a persistent session leaves the UI looking rather bare. Not having to rely on clientside JS for this would be awesome - or am I overthinking things?

I think this is now irrelevant, as we have a persistent indicator of logged-in-ness via the user bar. Please re-open if I'm wrong about that.
