Blake's whimsy addon is a fun hack on the Firefox recent-tabs UI, which loads from a set of animated gifs instead: https://github.com/bwinton/whimsy It would be pretty easy to instead load from the MakeAPI a set of curated makes, so that opening a new tab always showed you something new from our collection. I've often heard Ryan talk about doing an "about:webmaker" thing in Firefox, and this could be the first step. This isn't blocking anything, but I had the idea tonight and wanted to get it written down somewhere.
Sounds really bloody cool. I want to pick this up and do it once we get a lot more of the work done.

I have been advocating for an about:webmaker option in Firefox when we get far enough along, and I think this is a fantastic first step towards that. I would love if the add-on also added direct links to invoke thimble, goggles, and popcorn maker. (which of course starts this along the track to being the "Webmaker add-on")
