Currently there is a read only date picker that can be changed by moving the sliders. It'd be easier and less error prone to just pick start and end date in a date picker.

Kadir is right that these two are similar, so it is appropriate they are in the same bug. This seems pretty simple, but messing with jQueryUI in the past has been troublesome, so I'm going to estimate 2pts. Note that the slider is jQueryUI and we use jQueryUI for datepickers as well.
