User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130409194949

Steps to reproduce:

set out to just add the underscore as a regular char when dbl clicking a word, got that to work but have display problems like blank spots where there should be text, tab titles corrupted too, all intermittent. Did try removing my changes of course but issue persists. Any ideas?

Actual results:

blank spots where there should be text, tab titles corrupted too.

Expected results:

work same as public binaries, v20.0.1
or better yet, please do something about underscores, maybe option to enter list of separator chars something. It's been around since 2003 http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196175 it's pretty annoying for programmers.
Please try toggling hardware acceleration (Options → Advanced).
Thanks for suggestion, tried turning off autoscrolling and smooth scrolling too but problem persists. It is intermittent, as in I'll close and reload firefox and there'll be a difference, sometimes it looks ok or almost, and other times plenty of blank spots.

Hi reporter,

Can you please provide a test case so I can test this on my end? A link with a reproducible scenario?

Also, can you please try to reproduce this on the latest release(44.0) and latest Nightly(47.0a1) and provide the results? When doing this, please try to reproduce with a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even in safe mode, as some of this issues may be caused by third party installed add-ons or custom settings(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems).

Thanks,
Paul.

Hello Paul,

It seems fine now with v44 and VS 2013. Almost tempted to do that underscore thing now, hope they change that decision, at least make it an option.

Thank you
