With the reduced volume of Firefox Sync questions in the forum, and the new taxonomy of the site, Sync as standalone path to the forum is a legacy that we could remove. As today, only 1.7% of the users visiting the site go to Sync compared to 40% to Desktop and 2.7% on Mobile. It should be save to remove it and expect this users to go through Desktop or Mobile.
