Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130326150557

Steps to reproduce:

Nothing special, I was just quitting Firefox like I've done for ages.

Actual results:

Get 'embarrassing error message' after reopening: "Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. You can try: Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem".

Expected results:

Last opened or default web page should open.
hello, that's likely a duplicate of bug 845681 & should be fixed in firefox 21.
Can you reproduce this issue on Firefox 21 or later?

What do you mean? I haven't seen Ff 21 yet ...

Firefox 21 has not been released yet, but the beta builds are available:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/21.0b3-candidates/build1

Keep in mind that beta builds might not be as stable as release ones, so if you don't want to keep this build, don't install it over your Firefox 20.

Thanks. I chose 'Always use private browsing mode' in Preferences>Privacy, resolves the problem (but doesn't correct the bug, naturally).
