What did you do?

We want to update some links in the home page of the MDN. But we would like to be able to compare the effects before/after.

And also we want to be sure that there aren't any specific class of users doing extensive use of these links

What happened?
==============
These links are not only available where we want to change them, so we cannot know if they were followed or not.

What should have happened?
==========================
By adding ?home=1 (or something similarly unique), they will appear very clearly in GA.

Is there anything else we should know?

Jean-Yves, if you want to implement this URL change and test for the next 2 weeks, that is just fine if it isn't a lot of extra work. However...

For the mid-May update, the plan is that this dropdown menu functionality will stay, but the links in this menu and the links on the homepage itself will deviate a bit from what is currently there. So this link list will not be identical for the mid-May update if this effects your testing decisions at all.


If you would like to know exactly what links will be different, let me know. I don't think this information is finalized, but I can keep you updated.

The bug is no more relevant as we changed the menu in between. We'll never know the effect of the change.
