User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0
Build ID: 20130329030352

Steps to reproduce:

Logging into this (https://www.halifax-online.co.uk) bank's website has a two stage security login.

The second stage of the login is three drop down boxes of single characters where you have to provide three characters from your second password.

I tried to enter the letters by selecting the corresponding character on the keyboard.

Actual results:

Entering the corresponding character on the keyboard has no effect.

The drop down box just stays on the default state 'Select'.

Using the up and down arrows within the box works. But is not as fast or easy to select the characters.

I have tested the same website with Google Chromium and it does not have this problem.

Expected results:

The drop down box should have changed to the character I pressed on the keyboard.
Is there any way for us to have access to a test account in order to see the issue? Or can you provide some images? I tried to set up an account but it requires a valid credit card.

Can you try using Firefox with add-ons disabled? Help/Restart with Add-ons Disabled...
Or with a clean profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles#os=linux&browser=fx20

In the latest version of Firefox shipped with Ubuntu 12.10 (22.0+build2-0ubuntu0.12.10.2) this issue is now fixed.

Thanks to whoever did the work.

Cheers
